Als wir am Montag, den 29.April 2013 nach dem Einweihungsgottesdienst in der Schule zusammen saßen, den activities der Lehrer, Kindergärtnerinnen und Küchenfrauen zuschauten und gemeinsam Reis mit Fleisch und Kohl aßen, schrieb einer meiner Kollegen aus dem Nichts ein Gedicht, welches er wenig später zum Programm beisteuernd vortrug. Es sind Worte, die ihm soeben in den Sinn kamen - über sr. Klaras Idee, eine Schule für Waisenkinder zu bauen, über die Art und Weise, wie der heilige Franziskus auch heute noch in Madisi in den verschiedenen Menschen wirkt und dadurch Gutes getan wird. Ich finde es großartig und entdecke immer mehr Talente im Lehrerzimmer.

Wonder why

Wonder why the sisters

came up with the idea of caring

for orphans and vulnerable children?

It is the space in their hearts,

so big to occupy the needy -

the St. Francis way.

Wonder why the German friends

take time to go deep in their pockets

at the cry of our orphans?

It is the competence of those

that are entrusted with the reason

for assisting the needy -

the St. Francis way.

Wonder why the staff of “St. Francis”

works so hard to help the sisters.

It is the lesson they get

from the sisters to help the needy -

the St. Francis way.

Wonder why the community of Madisi

responds positively to the pleas of dear sisters

for the charity work they do.

It is the welcoming smile they get

at their home during prayers and

on the way they meet them.

Wonder why we are seated happily,

enjoying the food together.

It is for the good reason

that gives relief to the future of orphans

who had no place to call home,

that now they can dine in a beautiful home.

Hope you and I

have no reason now to

wonder why?!
